MIL-V-81995/6(AS)
Vibration:
See Figure 4.
Military Part Number.
The military part number of the valve shall be
M81995/6.
Position Indicator. The position indicator switch shall operate before 16°
open in the opening direction and before 6° open in the closing direction.
External Surface Temperature. The external surface temperature of the
ATSCV shall not exceed 400°F during or following any operating condition,
whenever the ambient temperature is 350°F or less. Provisions necessary to
meet this requirement may be satisfied by use of an external covering or
insulating blanket.
Pneumatic Control Unit (PCU). The PCU shall be remotely located from the
valve and FSR with interconnecting tubing and electrical wiring to be
furnished by the aircraft manufacturer.
Performance: The bleed flow from the PCU versus power input using a
nominal 39 ohms coil resistance shall conform to Figure 5.
Life: The life test of the PCU shall consist of a minimum of the
following cycling. The current shall be cycled from O to 300 mA and
back to zero in three minutes. The conditions shall be as shown below:

Frequency Sensing Relay (FSR). The FSR shall be furnished as a remotely
mounted unit and shall meet the requirements of MIL-E-5400 where not in
conflict with criteria specified elsewhere in this specification. All inputs
and outputs shall terminate at a single connector.
FSR/PCU. The FSR shall interface with the PCU and the ATS to provide the
following controls to the ATSCV:
a.
Close the ATSCV on increasing speed at 64 ±1 percent (16,140
±250 rpm) of ATS output speed.
Maintain 59 ±1 percent ATS speed during system checkout when
b.
the AMAD is decoupled from the main engine.
ATS Speed Signal. The electrical input derived from the ATS speed sensor
shall result in loss of nominal 28 vdc power at the FSR output when the input
frequency reaches 6,354-6,556 Hz (10,926 rpm PTS speed). The maximum
amplitude expected is 30 volts peak-to-peak. The FSR shall meet performance
and BIT requirements with a maximum external capacitance of 14 nF between each
speed sensor line and ground.
